Bull Fighting is a traditional spectacle of Spain. The tradition, as it is practiced today, involves professional toreros who perform many traditional moves to take down the bull. I chose this subject for many reasons. The main reason is that I love animals. Also I love violence so I thought bullfighting would be the perfect subject for me. I even just wanted to learn more about it in full detail because my whole life I have always been skimming through my life and now I want to go into the subject in full detail.

The bullfighting performance includes many maneuvers. Such maneuvers are performed at close range, and have in some cases resulted in injury or even death of the performer. This appealed to me because the toreros have to have great pride and bravery to perform this daring part of there culture. The toreros take a great risk to perform in this sport .Bullfighting was originally a sport for the aristocracy and took place on horseback.
The two most famous toreros are the Ordenez brothers also known as the bloodbrothers

8th grade earth science was a great class full of many memories both good and bad. Throughout this class I learned many great things in many subjects such as: Astronomy, Weather and Climate, Geology, Weathering and Erosion, and Earth's Waters. These leanings include great things.

Astronomy
Astronomy was one of my favorite subjects this year. Every time I learn about astronomy it just gets me so interested. Just think about it a human going up into space a place that everyone wishes they could go some day. My favorite part about astronomy is learning about space exploration. This includes rockets, planets, and many other things.

Weather and Climate
My favorite part of this subject was learning about the layers of the earths atmosphere. I never knew there where layers of the atmosphere I only thought it was one thing. So I was surprised but also interested when I found out. Also I learned that certain layers contain certain things.

Geology
Geology was one of the boring subjects in this class but one interesting thing about it is learning about fossils. Even though we only learned about this for a little I thought it was very interesting. If you have seen the movie Jurassic Park and how they created dinosaurs using fossils then it keeps you thinking what we could do with fossils.

Weathering and Erosion
Weathering and climate was a very interesting subject. It is weird thinking that the Earth and all the rocks on it where once all very different. For example mountain tops used to look very different than they do now and they will keep changing as long as the earth still exists.

Earth's Waters
This was are most recent subject so it is the freshest in my mind. My favorite part about this subject was learning about wells and aquifer and the relations between the two. I thought the artisan well was just so cool how it exploded without a pump because of all the pressure build up. I also love how then can be exploding all the time or just some times. Wells are very important to some people because they rely on wells as there main water source.

This year of 8th grade science was a great year until the end when I made a very stupid mistake. This mistake was me copy and pasting someone else work and calling it my own which I regret very much. When I made this mistake I lost every ones trust around me which I have been trying to build up for a long time. I'm Cole Jones and this is my last blog post to end such a great year.

The water cycle is the continuous process in which water moves through the environment. The sun is the source of energy that drives the water cycle. the water cycle has no beginning or end. In the water cycle water evaporates from a water source then the precipitation builds up in clouds and when it gets to heavy the clouds release the precipitation in the form of snow, rain, and hail. Then the precipitation falls on the ground and creates runoff and ground water. Now the cycle repeats

I found that solar panels have to be big to collect rays from the sun because the suns rays are not very concentrated. I put this information in my presentation some information that did not put on my presentation but that I found was that the solar panels have to be very black in color to collect the suns rays. With this info i explained a little about solar panels in my presentation.

Solar energy is mostly used in homes right now. Some people install solar panels on there roof. The solar panels have to be large to collect energy from the sun because the sun does not shine a constant light on one place.You can live in city and have a solar home. Solar heat energy is often used for heating swimming pools, heating water used in homes, and space heating of buildings. Solar space heating systems can be classified as passive or active. Passive is when in buildings, the air is circulated past a solar heat surface and through the building by convection. No mechanical equipment is needed for passive solar heating. Active heating systems require a collector to absorb and collect solar radiation. Fans or pumps are used to circulate the heated air or heat absorbing fluid. Active systems often include some type of energy storage system.

3.What would happen if, worst-case scenario, nobody listened to your recommendations?
If we keep using coal and natural gas to heat and not solar power we will destroy are ozone.

We will not destroy the ozone and we will restore it and people will not will not have to pat a lot for energy.

I estimated the pennie would hold about 5 drops of water. Therfor I was suprised when the pennie held 15 drops of water. The pennie held this much water because water has a high surface tension. Because of this water can climb up roots and other things. But in this case the waters high surface tension helps the water hang onto the pennie.

Hi I'm Cole Jones, and I am a scientist here to visit Ogallala aquifer. The Ogallala spreads from South Dakota to Texas or the Great Plains. It's the largest source of fresh water found underground. The Ogallala Aquifer is basically a giant sponge. Playas are deposits of rain caught in clay depressions. Eventually the rainwater works its way down from the playas to the Ogallala. Around the Ogallala you will find a large variety of agriculture. For example, cattle ranchers & farmers. Both of these use the Ogallala as a water source for either their cattle or their

crops. Because of widespread irrigation, farming accounts for 94 percent of the groundwater use. The Ogallala is the main source of water for the Great Plains. It is believed that the Ogallala is one of the largest aquifers in the world. I also live in the Great Plains, so I depend greatly on the Ogallala Aquifer as a water source.

Most people have the wrong idea of what causes the seasons but here right now i am going to tell you what really causes the seasons. The seasons are caused by the revolving and rotating of the earth. As the earth revolves around the sun the angle of the suns rays change upon the earth. During the summer time in North America the suns rays are more direct on it thats why it is hotter in the summer than the winter. In the winter in North America the suns rays are more direct on somewhere else on the planet. How ever that is the cause of the seasons.

The book zoom was a very interesting book you would think you saw one thing then in would end up it was not what I thought it was.The book of zoom was a book with only pictures.The pictures would have a picture then the next page would be a zoomed out image of the last picture before it.When I saw the first picture i was pretty sure i knew what it was and then it would zoom out and it turned out i was completely wrong. So from there on i would look for hints to tell what it was really a picture of.This is a scientific skilled called inferring.

Every one has a different thought of what the picture is this is perspective.Each person has there own perspective it just depends on the persons mind and the way you look at it.To be a good scientist you have to have many perspectives.You also have to have a great imagination.

Scientists have to have many skills to be successful scientist.Scientists have to be very observant. they have to include sharp details and they have record the object they are observings every move.They have to especially when doing astronomy.

Skilled scientists use certain skills to note the natural. First of all they observe by using there senses to note. Scientists also use inferring and predicting. A couple of other important skills are classifying or grouping and making models. Scientists make models to help people and them selves to understand.
The enigma box is a long black with a big whole on the top and also a tiny whole.The box has a rubber tube coming out the bottom of it.The box is a size that could fit a lot of gadgets in it.When you pour water into it the water does not come out till you pour 470ml of water into it.This box to me is very interesting to me,but i do have some ideas about it.
I have many ideas about the box but my strongest one is the one i am about to tell you.I think there is a slanted piece of plastic cutting the box in half but leaving a gap at the top.So when the water fills up on one side it will fill out the top and pour over the gap and come out the bottom tube.Then the left over pressure will push out the rest of the water.
It ends up i was wrong but i am going to tell you how it works. The water that gets poured into the big whole on the top goes into a plastic tube.This tube curves in the box.When the water is poured into the tube it does not come out until the water reaches the full height of the tube then it starts coming out.Then the rest of the water is pushed up and out of the tube by pressure.There is never enough pressure to push up all the water so you will always have left over water.As you can see this simple little enigma box is not so simple but very interesting.
